At the Centre for Climate and Business Solutions, we support bold research that tackles pressing climate challenges head-on. Our goal is to drive meaningful change by funding groundbreaking academic research and practical solutions that can be implemented in real-world business settings.

We offer two distinct funding opportunities: Research Seed  Funding and  Post-Doctoral Fellowship Programs

Our funding programs are guided by several key principles:

  • Collaboration: We encourage partnerships between UBC researchers, other faculties, and industry partners to generate interdisciplinary insights and develop solutions that reflect diverse expertise.
  • Impact: Projects should influence both academic discourse and real-world practices, contributing meaningfully to the transition to a low-carbon economy.
  • Innovation: We value novel approaches that challenge conventional thinking and explore new avenues for addressing complex climate challenges.
  • Knowledge Sharing: We prioritize projects with clear plans for disseminating findings through publications, seminars, and public engagement to maximize their impact.

Whether advancing theory through academic research or delivering immediate solutions through applied projects, our funding programs aim to accelerate climate action through research that matters. We are committed to creating a platform where innovation flourishes, sustainable practices are integrated into businesses, and meaningful change is achieved.
