Indigenous Inclusion

UBC Sauder School of Business “Land Acknowledgment”
We at UBC Sauder School of Business operate on many Nations territories including the Musqueam peoples (Point Grey) and the shared territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-waututh nations (Robson Square/Vancouver). These lands have been protected and stewarded for thousands of years based on their protocol, values system and worldviews. At UBC Sauder, we are committed to upholding and respecting these teachings and will continue to advocate for a deeper understanding of these lands.
Below are 3 key actions UBC Sauder is taking to support reconciliation:
- Adoption and support of the global framework of United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).
- Support and commitment to implementation of UBC’s Indigenous Strategic Plan (ISP)
- Actively participating in reconciliation focused diversity and inclusion training workshops as a team to expand our knowledge and continue opening our hearts and minds to Indigenous ways of being and doing.
We are building a stronger Indigenous community for our students, employees, faculty and are committed to providing spaces that are respectful, inclusive of our diverse backgrounds while we learn and work in harmony.
