The Climate Innovation Challenge is an interactive, hackathon-style program where students collaborate to solve real-world climate challenges. This initiative connects students with industry experts to address critical issues in the climate sector. Participants work in teams, tackling pressing problems provided by leading climate-focused organizations, gaining hands-on experience in project development, and refining practical skills essential for climate innovation.
Through this challenge, students engage deeply with climate solutions, learning to design impactful strategies while developing actionable projects. The Climate Innovation Challenge offers a unique opportunity for students to expand their expertise, build professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to the fight against climate change.

Project Finance with Deep Sky and PwC
Project Finance with Deep Sky
The first Climate Innovation Challenge focuses on project finance for carbon dioxide removal (CDR), featuring a real-world case study from Deep Sky, a Montréal-based leader in large-scale CDR. Students will tackle the critical challenge of developing offtake and financing strategies for Deep Sky One, the company’s first commercial-scale direct air capture (DAC) facility in Quebec. This facility aims to remove and permanently sequester one million tonnes of CO₂ annually, contributing to global climate goals.
