In Action: BC Climate Resilience is an initiative led by the Centre for Climate and Business Solutions at UBC Sauder School of Business. This program is dedicated to developing industry-specific adaptation measures and enhancing climate resilience across key sectors. By working closely with businesses, governments, and communities, the initiative aims to strengthen climate risk management and foster practical solutions for a sustainable future.

Objectives

Strengthen Climate Resilience: Equip industries with strategies to adapt to climate risks and ensure long-term sustainability.
Industry-Specific Adaptation Measures: Tailor strategies for sectors vulnerable to climate change, including agriculture, retail, real estate, and energy.
Collaborative Solutions: Partner with industry leaders, policymakers, and academic institutions to co-create solutions for decarbonization and adaptation.
Climate Risk Assessment and Reporting: Support companies in identifying, managing, and reporting on climate risks, improving resilience across operations.

BC Agricultural Producers

This initiative supports BC agricultural producers, including those within the Vancouver Farmers Market network. The focus is helping local food producers and vendors adapt to climate risks such as unpredictable weather patterns and disrupted growing seasons. The Centre offers tools and strategies to strengthen agricultural supply chains, ensuring resilient operations and sustainable market practices that safeguard local producers and support the regional food economy.

BC Top 100: Corporate Climate-Related Public Disclosures

This project, in partnership with the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre (ZEIC), focuses on evaluating the resilience of the top 100 companies in British Columbia by assessing how they manage and disclose their climate risks.
