CPD 164 - Real Estate for Everyone: Working Towards a Positive and Thoughtful Profession with an ESG Perspective
Pre-requisite: None.
This course explores the emerging focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations in real estate. Through the words of diverse industry professionals, the course establishes a fundamental understanding of these ESG elements, and fosters a real-world awareness of effective decision-making and management. CPD 164 applies an interdisciplinary perspective, drawing from real estate examples and building on existing participant knowledge.

After completing this lesson, students should be able to:

- Evaluate how ESG considerations influence real estate investments, management, and valuation
- Describe how sustainability disclosure initiatives can impact valuation practices
- Analyze the effects of climate events on real estate valuation
- Evaluate how social factors affect valuation
- Identify and analyze potential biases that may influence valuation practices
- Synthesize how governance principles are applied in valuation practices
