How to apply

Get ready to apply to the Ch'nook Management Program by reviewing the application requirements and preparing your supporting documents. 

Admission to the 2027 Ch’nook Management Program will open in the fall.

If you're interested in joining the program, check back in the fall for application details.  

To be eligible for the program, you must complete the online application form and submit all required documentation below. Incomplete applications or missing documentation will result in your application not being considered.

Please note that the Spitz Centre for Indigenous Business Education office does not confirm receipt of applications or notify applicants of incomplete submissions. If you would like to follow up, please contact Admissions at Admissions@ch-nook.ubc.ca directly.

 

Application Process & Required Documentation

To be eligible for the Ch’nook Management Program, you must complete steps 1-6 below. Please email your completed application form, essay, CV or resume, two signed reference letters, and proof of ancestry to: Admissions@ch-nook.ubc.ca.

1. Essay (no more than 500 words)

Your essay needs to reflect the following topics if possible:

  • Introduction
  • Business experience
  • Career plans
  • Achievements
  • Community involvement and leadership experience 
  • Why you want to be in the program
  • What business idea you want focus on for the program

2. CV/Resume

3. Two Signed Reference Letters

This has to come from someone NOT related to you, who can speak to your professional or educational background, your character or commitment to your community. Reference letters should be signed, scanned and written on letterhead. 

4. Proof of Ancestry

To be eligible for the Ch'nook Management Program, you must be a First Nation (status & non-status), Métis or Inuit Canadian Indigenous applicant. Proof of heritage includes a copy or scan of the following: a certificate of Indian Status, Métis Nation membership card, or Inuit Beneficiary Card.

5. Application Form

Note: The 2027 CMP application form will be released in Fall 2026. 

Complete all required fields of the 2027 CMP application form and include it with your supporting documents when submitting your application package by email. 

6. Submit Your Application Documents:

Send your completed application form, proof of ancestry, two signed reference letters, CV or resume, and essay, in one email to: Admissions@ch-nook.ubc.ca
