How to apply

Admission to the 2025 Ch’nook Management Program is now OPEN!

We are now accepting applications to the 2025 Ch’nook Management Program (formerly known as the Aboriginal Management Program). The deadline to apply is March 2, 2025 at midnight.

To be eligible for the program, you must complete the online application and submit all required documentation. Incomplete applications or missing documentation will result in your application not being considered. Please note that the Ch’nook Indigenous Business Education office does not confirm receipt of applications or notify applicants of incomplete submissions. Application Process & Required Documentation

To be eligible for the Ch’nook Management Program, you must complete the online application form provided below. Before starting your application, we recommend preparing all required documents, including your essay, CV or resume, two signed reference letters, and proof of ancestry. The application form will prompt you to upload these documents as part of the submission process.

 

1. Essay (no more than 500 words)

Your essay needs to reflect the following topics if possible:

  • Introduction
  • Business experience
  • Career plans
  • Achievements
  • Community involvement and leadership experience 
  • Why you want to be in the program
  • What business idea you want focus on for the program

2. CV/Resume

3. Two Signed Reference Letters

This has to come from someone NOT related to you, who can speak to your professional or educational background, your character or commitment to your community. Reference letters should be signed, scanned and written on letterhead. 

4. Proof of Ancestry

To be eligible for the Aboriginal Management Program, you must be a First Nation (status & non-status), Métis and Inuit Canadian Indigenous applicant.

Proof of heritage includes a copy or scan of the following a certificate of Indian Status, Métis Membership Card, or Inuit Beneficiary Card, or a letter of acknowledgement from First Nation, Métis Association or Inuit agreement administrator.
