Math
To be admissible to Year 1 of the BCom program, you must have completed or be in the process of completing Senior Level Math. If you are completing a BC high school curriculum, the required math is Pre-Calculus 12 (Foundations of Mathematics 12 and Calculus 12 are NOT acceptable substitutes). Many students find that taking a secondary school calculus course helps them succeed in our first year Math course; it is strongly recommended.

Additional coursework
UBC considers your grades in all Grade 11 (junior level) and Grade 12 (senior level) classes, paying special attention to courses that relate to the degree you’re applying to. Visit you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc for detailed information on general and program-specific requirements per region and curriculum and to learn more about how your courses and grades will be evaluated.

English-language requirements
English is the primary language of instruction at UBC. To be eligible for admission, you must meet UBC's English Language Admission Standard.
Documents required
You must complete and provide:
- UBC online application: submit by January 15, 2025.
- An interim transcript of your grades.
- Additional documentation: proof of English Language proficiency, SAT scores (for US students) and more may be required depending on where you’ve completed secondary school. Visit you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc for more information.
Admission evaluation
Although we do not admit students solely on the basis of grades, academic performance is extremely important. Only applicants with competitive grades are eligible to be considered for admission. Please note that the course grades used in the calculation of your average and what is considered competitive will depend on where you are currently attending secondary school and the grading scale used by your school. Detailed information on secondary school course requirements and equivalents as well as information on how your courses and grades will be evaluated can be found at you.ubc.ca/applying-ubc
