Why sponsor?
When you sponsor an employee to attend the UBC Professional MBA (PMBA) program, you'll send a clear signal about your organization's commitment to life-long learning. Your recognition and support will encourage the most promising employees to remain loyal, and to apply their newfound business skills to your company's advantage.
Add skills to your team
You won't have to wait for graduation day to benefit from your sponsored employee's new business skills. From day one of the program, our integrated approach to teaching gives students a broad management perspective and the cross-functional skills necessary to tackle complex business issues.
Your sponsored employee will become a more productive and effective team member and bring new energy and ideas to your workplace. In addition, the PMBA program is structured to accommodate your employee's workweek: classes are held on weekends for the in-person format or weeknights for the online format.
How it works
Sponsorship models vary. You can choose to fund all or part of the tuition by paying up front, in installments, or reimbursing the employee upon successful completion of the program. To protect your investment, you may wish to set up a retention agreement, with funding contingent on a required service period after graduation.
During the program there are other ways to support your UBC Professional MBA candidate. By familiarizing yourself with the curriculum, you can be more flexible and understanding as your employee balances the demands of work and school. By identifying an organizational issue that will serve as the focus for an industry project in the final year, you will maximize the value of the program for both your employee and your company.
