Amethyst Chen
Amethyst's professional journey encompasses a range of roles at UBC, including digital marketing and executive education. She currently excels as the Manager of Recruitment & Admissions for UBC's IMBA program. Prior to this, Amethyst honed her expertise at Microsoft, providing clients with exceptional consultation on marketing strategies on LinkedIn.
Amethyst holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC and an MBA from the joint program of Peking University and University College London (UCL).
Jingshang (Kyle) Lao
Kyle has lived and studied in four countries, equipping him with a broad international perspective and an inclusive mindset. His professional journey includes significant roles at global corporations such as Ericsson, where he managed marketing and administrative functions for the R&D department. Kyle also contributed his expertise at Amazon Ireland, specializing in Anti-Money Laundering and financial compliance.

Schedule an ELI exam
All academic work is conducted completely in English. Therefore, all participants must be able to speak, comprehend, and write fluently in English. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 80 (iBT) or IELTS-Academic (overall 6.5) is required for all applicants whose degrees are from an institution in which English was not the primary language of instruction. Alternatively a UBC English (ELI) exam may be taken. Please contact the UBC IMBA office to schedule your exam.
