This project continues the Nanwakolas Council’s prudent research-led approach to establishing aquaculture operations by assessing options for scallop seed supply, determining a research partner for pilot grow-out projects and technician training, and forming a plan to fund the research.
Revitalization of Salmon Hatchery and Restoration of Wetlands

The Revitalization of Salmon Hatchery and Restoration of Wetlands Project is providing the GFN with a strategy for updating the Hartley Bay Hatchery facility, which has not been updated since its inception in 1982, and ensuring that the hatchery remains in operation since it is such a vital part of the region and the Gitga’at peoples.
