The Wayne Deans Investment Analysis Centre is a powerful hub for UBC Sauder students and faculty to learn and explore the tools needed for investing in the real world.
Equipped with leading edge financial technology and software used by industry professionals, the centre provides real time access to global capital markets. This enables students and faculty to spend less time gathering data and more time analyzing it, providing a clear boost to research and learning.
In December 2011, Wayne Deans, a leading Vancouver finance professional, made a $2.2 million gift to establish the Wayne Deans Investment Analysis Centre at the Sauder School of Business. When asked about his inspiration for establishing the centre, Deans said he wanted to give students a tool that would benefit them in their studies and in their careers after graduation.
The gift highlights Deans’s longstanding commitment to business education. He has been actively involved with the UBC BCom for the past 25 years and played a critical role in the formation of the Portfolio Management Foundation program, which gives students the opportunity to manage a portfolio and invest in the capital markets.
