“It’s exciting and validating to see the continued recognition our professional development programs receive in these prestigious rankings,” says Bruce Wiesner, associate dean of UBC Sauder Executive Education. “Given that the Financial Times Executive Education survey is largely informed by qualitative client and customer feedback, it’s clear our approach is resonating with senior business leaders. The business world is going through unprecedented disruption at present, and the professional development industry is no exception. Our ability to stay nimble and adapt to the changing needs of our clients is one of the reasons I am confident we will continue to rank amongst the world’s best in the years to come.”

The 2020 Financial Times Executive Education Rankings identify the top 85 customized and top 75 open-enrolment programs worldwide. The rankings are based primarily on measures of participants’ and clients’ satisfaction, as well as the schools’ growth in revenue, international reach and faculty diversity.

In the open enrolment category, the Financial Times highlighted the diversity of UBC Sauder Executive Education’s faculty, ranking it as 23rd in the world. The “Faculty Diversity” ranking recognizes the gender diversity of UBC Sauder’s faculty instructors, as well as the impressive make-up of faculty who are from Canada and many other countries around the world. This diversity offers program participants instruction with a truly global perspective.

“Fostering a sense of global responsibility is a key value at UBC Sauder, and in these quickly changing times, this value is more important than ever. Thanks to the depth of knowledge and experience of our faculty, we can equip lifelong learners with the vision and skills they need to meet the challenges of today, and to reimagine the future with more innovative and courageous solutions,” says Robert Helsley, dean of the UBC Sauder School of Business.

UBC Sauder Executive Education offers a comprehensive range of open enrolment programs, from shorter courses for the broader business community to immersive weeklong programs for senior leaders, with training designed to have an immediate, positive impact on performance. Adapting quickly to changing times due to COVID-19, programs are now being delivered virtually, using the latest video conferencing technologies, to keep physical distance and maintain safety for our participants and instructors.

As Western Canada’s leading executive education provider, UBC Sauder Executive Education has increased its impact with the addition of innovative new programs to its roster in recent years, and now delivers over 160 programs to more than 2,500 executives every year.
