About the UBC Juris Doctor + Master of Business Administration (JD/MBA) program

The 4-year UBC Juris Doctor + Master of Business Administration (JD/MBA) dual degree program tackles the complexities of two diverse yet complementary disciplines, allowing you to gain expertise in all angles of law, business and management. Learn from world-leading faculty while gaining hands-on experience through articling positions, click programs, and the MBA Global Immersion Experience. Become skilled in making strategic business decisions while developing fluency in the traditional areas of legal practice as well as emerging fields of specialization.

Speakers

Gray Monczka

UBC JD/MBA Candidate

Gray is a JD/MBA candidate at the University of British Columbia. Before pursuing his joint degree, Gray performed professionally as a musical theatre performer across North America. In his 1L summer, Gray worked at Dentons Canada LLP in the Vancouver office as the recipient of the Douglas Knowles KC Annual Internship in Insolvency where he co-authored an article published in the 20th Annual Review of Insolvency Law, Canada's leading insolvency law journal. In his 2L summer, Gray worked at Torys LLP in Toronto with a focus on corporate solicitor practices. Gray will return to Torys LLP after graduating to continue developing his corporate practice.

Grace Hardwicke-Brown

UBC JD/MBA Alum

Grace is currently an associate in the Corporate and Securities Group at Stikeman Elliott LLP, one of Canada’s premier business law firms. Grace completed her JD/MBA in May 2024 and prior to law school, she pursued a Bachelor of Commerce at the UBC Sauder School of Business and was a varsity athlete on the UBC Rowing team throughout her undergraduate degree.

Vivian Tran

Director, Admissions & Recruitment at Peter A. Allard School of Law

Vivian earned her BA in International Relations and Political Science from UBC and a Masters in International Affairs from Carleton University. She began her career with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Ottawa and Vancouver, then moved to Knowledge Translation at the Vancouver School of Economics. Prior to joining Allard, she worked for a decade at the UBC Sauder School of Business in domestic and international recruitment and admissions.

Patricia Wang

Manager, Recruitment & Admissions at UBC Sauder School of Business

I have been working in Canadian Higher Education sector for more than a decade, and with a Master's Degree in Education, I am passionate about supporting students' journey and helping people find their potential through higher education. I thrive in people connections and I enjoy different stories. I am also deeply committed to fostering an equal, diverse, and inclusive community at UBC Sauder. Beyond my professional endeavors, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and archery, you can probably find me on one of the local mountains in the summer!
