The Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics at UBC Sauder are pleased to host a talk on “Investor Engagement on Social Issues” by Shannon Rohan on January 25th, 2021.
This past year has highlighted the need for investors to consider social issues like never before. Engagement is a crucial strategy for responsible investors to fulfill their stewardship obligations.
Shannon is the Chief Strategy Officer at Shareholder Association for Research & Education (SHARE). During her 15 years at SHARE, Shannon has helped to build the organization’s investor network to include foundations, Indigenous trusts, universities, pension funds and faith-based investors representing over $50 billion in assets under management. Shannon advises asset owner boards in their implementation of responsible investment policies and practices and leads strategic projects for SHARE including the Valuing Decent Work Initiative, the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Initiative, and Foundation Investing 2.0. She has 20 years of experience in the areas of responsible investment, sustainable finance, cooperative development and sustainability in Canada, South Africa and Latin America.
