Step out for a summertime social for UBC Sauder alumni and prospective students at downtown Calgary’s vibrant National on 10th. Enjoy appetizers and drinks as you catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones—all in a relaxed and fun setting.

Join us for a complimentary continental breakfast and an immersive sample class exploring the "Impact of AI on Product Development" by award-winning professor and researcher, Dr. Tim Silk. Dr Tim Silk

Dr. Tim Silk

Associate Professor of Teaching, Marketing and Behavioural Science Division

Professor Silk specializes in brand management and new product development and works with organizations to identify market opportunities and bring new products to market. He is an award-winning teacher and researcher and has delivered executive programs for leading organizations for the past 20 years. He has served as an advisor on consumer behavior, brand strategy, disruptive innovation, product development, and pricing to organizations such as Best Buy, Brand Finance, McKesson and Visa.

Professor Silk has also served as a behavioral expert and public policy advisor for government organizations including the Competition Bureau of Canada, U.S. Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Government Accountability Office.

His research has been published in the premier marketing journals Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Consumer Psychology and featured in news media such as CBC News, CBS News, Fortune, Globe & Mail, and U.S. News & World Report.

Before becoming a professor, Dr. Silk worked as a product manager in the beverage industry and as an account manager in the advertising industry. In his free time he enjoys hiking, skiing and kart racing with his family.
