Financial Statement Analysis for Non-Financial Managers

Interpret the key financial levers that drive business performance

Financial statements are the pulse of a business and one of the clearest indicators of its health. They provide the critical information every manager needs to keep their department’s financial footing on track.

Specifically designed for non-financial managers, this program provides easy-to-follow guidance in interpreting and analyzing financial statements. Discover what's behind the numbers, and participate in meaningful financial discussions. Get the skills and confidence needed to gauge financial performance. Make effective data-driven decisions that support business goals. Show your company that you’re a driving force in its profitability and growth.

Note: for those who are very new to the field, Fundamentals of Accounting for Non-Financial Managers is a great place to start.

How you will learn

Using actual public company statements, you will get hands-on practice in analyzing financial data and applying key ratios. You will also see how financial statements can be manipulated, and ways to uncover irregularities in reporting. In addition, there will be a discussion on the growing use of non-GAAP metrics.

Many non-financial managers are uncomfortable performing financial analysis. Don’t worry about getting it all right. Practice is the main thing – the more you practice, the better you will become!

Who is this for?

This program is designed for professionals with little formal training or experience in finance and accounting, who are looking to advance their career and promote business success. For example:

  • Directors, general managers, administrative managers and divisional managers
  • Executives or department heads in sales, marketing, HR, operations, technical and other non-financial functions
  • Government and non-profit managers
  • Executives, owners and entrepreneurs of small start-up or growing companies

The program will also benefit managers with some previous knowledge of financial information who want a refresher on the basics.
